VBS -
We have experienced one of the greatest Vacation Bible Schools ever. We had our engines racing for God, our pits crews filling us up with great food, and our crew chiefs giving us great Bible lessons. We haven't finished the race yet, but the things that we have gained are better than any series championship.
A special thanks goes out to all those who have helped in some way or another. Thank You for helping...Lettie Johnson, Maria Swick, Edie Stapleton, Rachel Stapleton, Sommer Picklesimer, Michelle Mays, Gwen Johnson, Allyson Bender, Kelly Emmons, Forresta Shope, Beverly Williams, Patty Jenkins, Cathy Conley, Julie Simpson, Morgan Allard, Jessie Allard, Charlie Lewis, Lois Dunham, Jennifer Wright, Karen Peyton, Nita Gammon, Evan DeCamp, Josh Tolliver, Cortland Bowman, Niki Ramey, Ericka Mays, Jeremy Smith, Eric Rundquist, Megan Hicks, and anyone that did not get mentioned.
Another Thank You goes out to businesses and people who donated food items and give-away prizes...Burger King (W'burg), Dairy Queen (W'burg) Fred's Pizza (W'Burg), Pizza Hut (W'Burg), Praises Bookstore (New Boston), Subway (W'Burg), Taco Bell (W'burg), Texa Roadhouse (Ashland, KY), Wendy's (Portsmouth), Able Transport (W'Burg), Arby's (W'Burg), Bob Evan's (New Boston), Giovanni's (Sciotoville), Kroger (Portsmouth, W'burg), McDonald's (W'burg) and many of our wonderful church members.
Thank you to all the parents for bringing or sending your children to our VBS. We averaged 58 kids every night. Our offering was also a wonderful blessing, collecting over $700 during the week. We are still collecting offering to send a special gift to Howell's Mill Christian Assembly. If you would like to contribute to our goal of $1200, contact the church office.
Through everything that we did this year, we did it for God and no one else!!
Don't forget to come and celebrate the closing of VBS and the kick-off of the fall programming at Porter Township's Pool and Park on Sept 2nd. We swim ($3 a person) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., then we eat and play games from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at one of the shelter houses. This is for the entire family so we hope to see you there!!
