Who am I
Have you ever felt uncomfortable in a very comfortable environment? I think almost all of us at one time or another has felt that way. Most everyone knows I am most comfortable when I am preaching. However, there have been many times when I have felt uncomfortable while delivering a sermon. I know that sounds strange, but I am sure you can empathize with me. There have probably been times when you have felt uncomfortable with your spouse. Maybe it was a time when a weakness was exposed, or discovered or even confronted. Maybe you have felt uncomfortable in your own home (a place we would assume we should feel the most comfortable). Hopefully you have felt uncomfortable in church before (after all if I allow you to get comfortable with your Christianity then I am not preaching the scriptures the way that I should). I know we all understand being uncomfortable when it comes to situations where we should be perfectly comfortable.This morning we are going to begin a series of eight sermons titled “WHAT AM I?” to help us discover what we are as Christians. I think many Christians are uncomfortable in their “Christian skin” because they don’t understand what they are and what role they should be playing in the kingdom of God. My hope for this series is that we can better understand our “uncomfortable” status in this life so that we might gain a better perspective on how we should be interacting with world around us and the kingdom of God. So hopefully this summer we can learn a little bit about what we are so that we might have a greater sense of belonging to the kingdom God has given us. …because He still lives,Jason13.05.2008. 07:50
